El Nino spoils the mountain weather
About this changing weather, Dr. R.K Singh, head of the meteorological department of Govind Ballabh Pant Agricultural University, Pantnagar, and meteorologist, while talking to a news channel, told that under the influence of this El Nino, the temperature of the Mediterranean Sea will increase. Western disturbances are not forming due to increase. Due to western disturbances, tropical storm winds enter the Indian subcontinent via Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan. There is rain and snowfall in the hilly areas from November to February. During these four months, on an average 4 to 5 western disturbances are formed every month. This causes snowfall and rain in the hilly states of Uttarakhand, Kashmir, Himachal. This causes a drop in day and night temperatures in the hilly states. But due to El Nino, western disturbances are not forming. Due to this, suitable season of snowfall and rain is not occurring in the hilly states. Due to this also the cold is increasing.
